Samutthāna offers a structured three-month (part-time) psychosocial internship program that offers aspiring mental health professionals comprehensive exposure to key areas of psychological services, including therapeutic interventions, special education, and rehabilitation and skills-development work.
Key features of the internship program:
- Field placements: Interns gain hands-on experience at a variety of psychosocial settings.
- Research proposal: Interns develop an individual research proposal, which helps them develop and refine their research skills.
- Journal Club: Monthly meetings that offer opportunities for collaborative learning. Interns review and discuss contemporary research & developments in psychology, enhancing their engagement with evidence-based practice.
- Weekly supervision sessions: Conducted by two psychologists from the Samutthāna team. These sessions provide a structured space for interns to reflect on their placement experiences, address challenges encountered in the field, receive mentorship on their research projects, and broaden their knowledge through group discussions.
Placement Hours: This internship programme covers approximately 180 – 200 placement hours.
Eligibility for enrollment in the internship program:
- Bachelor’s Degree (in Psychology) – Currently in final year / Completed degree
AND/OR - Master’s Degree (in Psychology) – Currently enrolled / Completed degree
